THE HYBRID BOAT

Meet the Guaracy

In alignment with our journey, the vehicle needed to be powered by clean and renewable energies, and that how Guaracy came to be, powered by solar energy and pedal. The boat was designed especially for this expedition and will be constructed with bioresin and natural fibers, in an innovative and unprecedented system, that makes her as sustainable as possible.

The Guaracy is powered by solar energy and pedal and its name was inspired by the Sun God of Tupi-Guarani culture.

Her name was inspired by the Sun God of Brazilian Indigenous Tupi-Guarani culture. According to indigenous belief, Guaracy is the creator of all living beings, and that’s why the Amazon has the greatest biodiversity on the planet.

In addition to being a sustainable example for the world, the expedition will have a social impact by donating plans and construction instructions for hybrid vehicles to the local communities.

Nowadays riverside and indigenous communities use gasoline engines that come from far away and cost twice the price compared to the rest of Brazil.

AMAZON RIVER FROM ICE TO SEA will make the boat’s plans available, so communities in the Amazon and in other regions of the country will have access to environmentally friendly alternatives and will be able to make their own hybrid boats.
